Create, present, and share a presentation
Build a slide deck, add speaker notes, publish a viewer link, and export a PDF.
A presentation belongs to the selected Personal or team context. Open Presentations, choose Create presentation, enter a title, then choose a blank deck, project update, or pitch deck. A template creates ordinary slides; you can change or delete every item it adds.
Build slides
Use Slide to add a blank slide, Duplicate slide to copy the current one, or choose a title or two-column layout. The slide list shows the deck order. Drag a slide to move it, or use its up and down buttons. The circle button hides a slide from presenting and PDF export. Deleting a slide cannot be undone after leaving the editor, so use Duplicate slide first when you want to keep a version.
Add text, an image, a shape, or an arrow from the toolbar. Select an item to move or resize it. Dragging near a slide edge or centre snaps the item into place. Double-click text on the slide to edit it, then use the inspector for text size and alignment. Bullets adds bullet markers to the selected text. Images come from your Magpie image library; write alternative text when an image carries meaning.
The editor saves changes automatically. Undo and Redo cover recent changes in the current browser session. If another tab saves a newer deck, reload before continuing so you do not overwrite that version.
Notes, presenting, and sharing
Speaker notes belong to one slide. They are available in the editor and are not included in a shared deck, presentation view, or PDF.
Choose Present to open the deck without editing controls. Arrow keys, space, buttons, and phone swipes move between visible slides. Hidden slides do not appear there.
Publish copies the current deck to a fixed shared version. Choose Share by link only after publishing. Anyone with that link can view the published deck without signing in, so treat the link as public access. Later edits remain private until you publish again. Stop sharing to disable the public link.
Team access follows the owning team's permissions. Add a direct collaborator by their Magpie username when they should view or edit this one deck without joining the team. Send that person the editor address; the deck does not appear in a team they have not joined.
Export a PDF
Choose Export PDF in the editor. Magpie opens the browser print dialog with one visible slide per landscape page. Choose Save as PDF in that dialog. The export uses the saved working deck, including a recent autosave, and does not include speaker notes or hidden slides. Publishing is not required for an export.
If a shared presentation opens an older version, an image is missing from a PDF, or a save repeatedly fails, Contact support.
