Design, publish, and export a book
Set book metadata and typography, preview the result, publish a reader, or export print and EPUB files.
Book settings control the assembled manuscript rather than one section. Set the title, subtitle, author, description, public address, language, cover colour or image, and author bio. Text settings cover font, size, line spacing, text width, smart typography, chapter numbering, running heads, page numbers, page size, and related print choices.
Optional front pages can include publisher, edition, copyright details, ISBN, dedication, and epigraph. Do not turn on an automatic page when you have already written the same page as a manuscript section.
Use Preview to inspect the complete included manuscript before publishing or exporting. Publishing enables the public browser reader at the book's address; unpublishing removes public access without deleting the project.
Print output is intended for printing or PDF creation through the browser. EPUB export packages the included sections and metadata for ebook readers. Always open an exported EPUB in an ebook application and inspect chapter order, images, navigation, and front matter before distributing it.
If export fails, check for empty required metadata and inaccessible image URLs. For an output file that omits included content, Contact support.
